Tournament Guidelines

Team Guidelines

1. Teams are made up of exactly six players (No Sub Players Allowed).

2. In  order to be eligible for participation, your team must consist of at least 2 female players.

3. Only ONE registration per team is necessary, so Team Captains should be the only ones to sign up!

4. Each player must fill out a waiver to participate in the tournament.  The form will be available for download soon.

5. Players must wear tennis shoes/closed-toed shoes in the pits.

Brackets - New & Improved for 2012!

This year, the tournament will be run similar to the World Cup Soccer Tournament. It will begin with pool play.  Each court will have two round robin pools (Pool A & Pool B) that alternate games.  The winners of each pool will advance to the final bracket. This style tournament will guarantee teams at least three games and will eliminate long down times between games.

Apology From Murphy

I apologize… Dear Friends in Mud, We all had a lot of fun last year and we raised more money for Habitat than we ever have before but it was no secret that the brackets did not run as smoothly as they should have.  The good news is that we were able to identify the problems and correct them for this year with the help of the tournament gurus at SportsLink.  I apologize for any frustration it may have caused and I invite you back for the best dirty thirty yet.   Thanks, Tim Murphy

Rules of Play

If it splashes it’s in

Rally scoring (In the rally scoring system, a point is scored every time a rally concludes)

Play to 15

Switch sides when one team scores 8 points

Entire team must rotate clockwise on side out

Must win by two

Serve is good if it hits the net and goes over

Ball must make it over in 3 hits or less
