About Us

What impact does Mud Volleyball have on Charlotte? The money raised from Murphy’s Dirty 30 will support Habitat Charlotte’s affordable housing programs. Projects help provide safe, decent, affordable homes for families in Charlotte! Funds from the 2012 tournament will go directly to HYPC’s goal of being a partner sponsor of a new Habitat home – a $35,000 commitment. Thank you! We couldn’t have done it without your support!

Who the heck is Murphy?
”Murphy’s Dirty 30′ Mud Volleyball Tournament (a.k.a. Habitat Mud Volleyball) was conceptualized by Tim Murphy and a few of his friends in 2007. With his 30th birthday looming, Murphy and his buddies brainstormed ways to celebrate the landmark day and decided that for his “Dirty 30” they would throw a Mud Volleyball tournament. After further discussion they decided this event would be even better if they could raise money for Habitat For Humanity and we’re still going strong six years later!

Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte
Habitat Charlotte builds and rehabilitates affordable homes for low-income families who currently live in inadequate, often overcrowded housing. Habitat Charlotte works in partnership with families who demonstrate a need for housing, the ability to pay a no-interest monthly mortgage, and also a willingness to partner with Habitat Charlotte. Home ownership is arguably one of the most important aspects of a sustainable, vibrant community. To find out more about Habitat Charlotte’s work, click here.
